Mango the parrot on my coffee cup. He waits until you get up and go for toast, then you come back and find him like this, sneaking a drink of your coffee. He is South American, after all. Long time no see, Mango. My mom painted that cup.![]()
I want to see lots more of Mango in the future.
How much is a "mango" if you don't mind. How old is he? How long have you had him? What does his cage look like? what are his eating habits? Does he speak at all? Id he in Japan or US?

Mango was rescued by my little bother from some drug addicts who needed money to get high, so the price was not high, but I don't remember, a couple hundred USD, perhaps. Age unknown, but my mom had him for almost 10 years. He likes to eat a good parrot seed mix with sunflower, pumpkin seeds and dried fruit included, and eats rice, tofu, fruit. He has a large cage on a pedestal, the door is open and he comes and goes freely. He also likes to sit in the sun in a pine tree outside. sometimes he flies around the neighborhood, but he knows where the good food is, and always comes back. Also, there are flocks of parrots, presumably escaped pets, that travel in packs in southern california. They sometimes torment him, and he wants to come in. Hes very clean, likes to take a bath in the tree outside. You just point a spray bottle of warm water with a teaspoon of Listerine for disinfectant at him, and he starts lifting his wings and singing, really enjoys it. Then he dries out in the sun. You put a drape over his cage at night, and he sleeps. he speaks some sentences, but especially likes doing sound effects, water running in the sink, opening the refrigerator door, and he likes to copy the laugh of whoever is visiting the house. he's good at that. And he steals coffee.
