Posted by: Gianni on July 23, 2004 08:40 PM

mmmmm, yummy! looks like the little one would like some too.

Posted by: gleek on July 23, 2004 11:10 PM

I think it was white chocolate. I went for the blueberry cheesecake and scones with iced ginger tea.

My imagination has added a short soundtrack of Homer Simpson saying "Mmm... cake..."

I know just how Greg must feel. (^-^)

I guess you wouldn't be too far wrong, because he's go the drooling part down. However, he hasn't shown any interest in food, yet.

white chocolate???that's may favorite.
Are cheesecakes popular in Japan? And what about cheese?
I've heard that lots of japaneses are allergic to lactose.

Posted by: Gianni on July 24, 2004 09:01 PM

I think cheesecake is about as popular in Japan as it is elsewhere, you just have to get used to really, really small slices. I previously wrote about Papa Jon's cheesecake in Kyoto.

I think what you refer to is lactose intolerance (insufficient enzymes for digestion of lactose, with unpleasant results), rather than an allergy. I've heard that some high number like 80% of Asian-Americans are lactose intolerant, but no one has described to me having such symptoms in Japan.

Greg looks so beautiful. I can only imagine what you feel when you hold him like that.

nils,
how much does cheese cost per kilogram,in a supermarket in kyoto?

Posted by: Gianni on July 25, 2004 10:34 PM

Hello, Greg! I was missing you!
Happy birthday, Yoshiko-san!

Posted by: Camila on July 27, 2004 11:02 AM

Thank you, Camila. I have just turned 22 ;-)

Posted by: Yoshiko on July 29, 2004 12:39 AM

Yoshiko-san, you are so young, and you are already a mother of a pretty boy!
Congratulations for your birthday!
My best wishes for you three!

Posted by: Camila on July 30, 2004 06:55 AM

Oh, Camila! I was just joking about my age. I WAS 22 a little more than a decade ago.......... I feel so guilty. Please forgive me!

Posted by: Yoshiko on August 4, 2004 01:27 AM

Hahahahaha!
Please, you don't need to apologise, Yoshiko!
It was so funny!
You can really say you are 22, because you look like you are 22! :D

When I read your first post, I felt like a 23 years old baaba!
I thought: ''She is younger than me and she is already a mummy! I am so late!!!'' ;___;;;;;
I must confess that I feel so much better now!
I can't stop laughing!
