Coming soon: Daimonji (大文字)Gozan o-Kuribi fire festival

In the Daimonji Fire Festival fires are lit in the shape of symbols or kanji characters on six mountains around town every August 16 since the 1600s. Which one(s) should I photograph this year?

Kyomments

Hey Nils,
Sorry to go off topic, but I just wanted to let you know that your website is something that I look forward to reading everyday. I'm a young guy living in the States who has a burning desire to learn the Japanese language and culture and hopefully, one day, move to Japan and start my life. In 3 days I will be 16. I know that I have a good few more years before I go out into the real world, but I feel that I know what I want...and I know that my interests could shift, but I just want to thank you for letting me know that it is possible. Thank you for this blog. You are truly a great person. Thank you.

(Getting back on topic...) (^-^)
I vote for tori-mon, with hidari-dai as my second pick.

Tori-mon is an interesting choice, but I was actually thinking of the same thing.

I prefer Myou-hou :)
