I left this comment on an earlier post and am dlighted to learn you keep this excellent blog up to date. My family and I are coming to Kyoto 11/20-11/23 and have learned the city is quite crowded do to a festival. But we can't figure out what festival this is? Any ideas? Thanks.

Many temples stay open late in November and have special artistic illumination to accentuate the views.
